The Andalusian collective Open Front presents his first full-length, “War on all that”published by Universal. An album that transcends genres and borders to build a new language between flamenco and sound experimentation.
The album stands as a common territory where cante jondo, metal, jazz and electronics come together, a fusion that the band has been developing since their first appearances and that now crystallizes in their most ambitious work. With dense, almost ritual instrumentation, and a production that combines rawness and subtlety, Open Front traces a sound map of great expressive depth.
The core of the collective is made up of Marco Serrato and Borja Diaz (members of Orthodox), the guitarist Carlos “Choco” Pérezthe player Raul Cantizano and the producer David Corderoresponsible for articulating a discourse that breathes creative freedom. They are joined by top-level flamenco voices such as Ines Bacan, Israel Fernandez, Lela Soto, Angeles Toledo and Sebastian Cruzwhich bring different textures and traditions to the same emotional pulse.
Recorded mainly in Leaf with Raúl Pérez, and completed in studios such as Desmodus Sound, El Bisonte and La Puerta, the album reflects the process of search and evolution that the band has shown on the stages of Roadburn, Canela Party, Tomavistas or Primavera Sound.
With War on all that, Open Front They claim risk and hybridization as drivers of a new time for popular music.
