The Spanish singles chart has a new number 1: it is ‘IA’ by Clarent y Mora. Clarent has been one of the revelations of Latin music in recent months, and this song of spite towards an ex – whom he says he remembers only from behind – has been his definitive accolade in our country.
The most curious news that the chart leaves is the arrival in the top 100 of ‘Fever’ by Bad Gyal. It was 8 years ago this week that the song was uploaded to YouTube, but it has never been as popular in a single specific week as it is this one. The song has spent 505 days, that is, a year and a half, in the top 200 of Spotify Spain, but since it has never reached higher than the top 77 on that list, so it had never managed to gather enough streams to reach the Promusicae top 100. We assume that it has been ready for many weeks but this is the final one. Its entry into the top 96 reveals that the self-released song – prior to signing with Interscope – is quadruple platinum and therefore obviously one of Bad Gyal’s biggest hits in Spain.
The artist has been number 1 in Spain with ‘Alocao’ with Omar Montes and number 2 with ‘Zorra’ or recently with ‘Duro de Verdad’ with Los Sufridos.
The strongest entry is that of the collaborative ‘+57’ by Karol G with Feid, DFZM, Ovy on the Drums, J Balvin… for which the singer had to apologize for referring to a minor. The song comes in at number 4 in our country, one position below ‘If I Had Met You Before’. The song is currently number 14 on Spotify, so that position 4 could be its maximum.
The strongest rise is Cano’s ‘Se Puts on the Nikes’, which goes from number 45 to number 10 in its second week.
The list of new releases is completed with ‘Imagínate’ by Danny Ocean and Kapo, directly at number 31, ‘Quickie’ by Dei V at number 60 and ‘The Door’ by Teddy Swims at number 92.
