Edurne is the new number 1 on the Spanish album chart, having managed to reach this position with her new album ‘éXtasis’. It is the first time that Edurne is number 1 in Spain, as her album ‘Edurne’ was at number 3 in 2006, ‘Adrenalina’ was number 6 in 2015 and ‘Catarsis’ reached number 2 in 2020. Of course, ‘Éxtasis’ would have to surpass the longevity of these albums (24 weeks on the charts, 13 and 10, respectively) to certify greater success.
The second strongest entry is Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds. ‘Wild God’, our penultimate Album of the Week, is able to reach the top 6 in a country as complicated as Spain, and number 1 on the vinyl chart. In addition, it improves on the top 7 achieved by ‘Skeleton Tree’ and the top 9 achieved by ‘Ghosteen’. The new ‘Wild God’ has reached number 1 in Holland and Belgium, number 2 in Australia, France and Germany, and number 5 in the United Kingdom. A huge success in Europe and its native country.
Oasis reach number 14 with the reissue of their debut ‘Definitely Maybe’, while they manage to appear at number 96 on the singles chart with their great classic ‘Wonderwall’, actually taken from their second album. All of this is related of course to their reunion.
Other entries of the week include U2’s ‘Zoo TV Live In Dublin 1993′ at number 23 and Luis Cortés’ EP ‘Dolores’ at number 98.
