Cara Delevingne, known above all for her work as a model and actress, is going to release her first album on September 25. Since 2017 he had shared some single songs, especially soundtracks, a Christmas song with Jimmy Fallon, collaborated with FKA twigs… but it will be now when he begins his musical career in earnest.
We already know 4 of the 12 songs that will be part of the album called ‘Not Normal’. Among them, the electronic ‘Need It’, the drum&bass ‘Out of My Head’, the distorted ‘I Forgot’ and ‘Crazy, Baby’, which is our Song of the Day to try to wake up this Monday.
He wrote the song with Sarah Aarons (Tame Impala, Gracie Abrams), Sammy Witte (Harry Styles), and BJ Burton (Bon Iver, Charli xcx), who served as co-producer, and it shows. It is an elegant cross between pop and electronica with adulterated vocal samples, suitable especially for British radio stations. There it could sound between songs by Rudimental and Rita Ora.
The chorus screams anthem from all sides (“when you kiss me I go crazy”) and a special mention must be made for the very punctual guitar shots in a song that could have been Sky Ferreira’s long-awaited comeback.
The video, which features Samara Weaving, hovers between kiss and slap, a bit like the production of ‘Crazy, Baby’ itself.
