David Gilmourguitarist and leader of pink floydhas been interviewed on the show Jimmy Fallon in the United States and has denied one of the legends that have revolved around the classic “The Dark Side Of The Moon” for decades.
On November 7, David Gilmour, guitarist and singer of Pink Floyd, was the special guest on Jimmy Fallon’s show on the occasion of the launch of his solo album “Luck And Strange”. Among many other questions regarding the album, more personal and musical topics, there came a moment when Fallon asked one of his usual friendly questions and that’s when the topic appeared.
Fallon asks Gilmour about the theory launched by fans, which has been repeated for years, and which suggests that “The Dark Side Of The Moon” (1973), the Pink Floyd classic and one of the best-selling albums in rock history, would be written and performed in sync with the film “The Wizard of Oz” (Victor Fleming, 1939).
The British musician begins by jokingly saying “of course, it’s true”, and continues by pointing out that it is a theory that he has been hearing about for many years. He himself appears surprised by the synchronicities and coincidences that are created between both works of art, but he definitively denies that it is a true theory.
