Dani Martín postpones his album because of the dana; Rozalén returns to Letur

This Friday, November 8, there were several national launches that will not take place due to the damage, which has already left 215 dead in Spain, almost all of them in the Valencian Community. One of the most notable is that of Dani Martín. His album is called ‘The Last Day of Our Lives’ and he and his team have not considered it appropriate to publish it under these circumstances. The listening session that was going to take place at the WiZink Center today, November 5, has also been postponed. “Now it’s time to help, everyone as they can and be with the victims,” said the artist, who has donated 100,000 euros to the Red Cross to help those affected.

The LOS40 Music Awards ceremony will continue this November 8, although a Zero Row has been set up for donations and the chain is donating 200,0000 euros for those affected. Several banks have provided account numbers and Bizum for donations. RTVE has a list of organizations where you can donate.

Other communities have also suffered the damage, as is the case of Castilla La Mancha. Rozalén has decided to return to her town, Letur, to help with debris collection. The artist reveals that after two days paralyzed, almost unable to speak, she decided to return to Letur last Friday. I was talking a few days ago that, in a town where everyone knows each other, they couldn’t find 5 people. The authorities just indicated this Tuesday morning that they have found human remains.

In El País, Rozalén has spoken about this place that was so important in her childhood: “The woman they found 12 kilometers away yesterday was a friend of my mother, from her gang. The first one that appeared was from my grandmother’s country house, and the pain is particularly immense in the case of Monica and Jonathan, a couple my age whose house collapsed on top of them. They leave behind two small children. In the town, even if you don’t have direct disappearances, we are all very screwed.

Rozalén’s story is overwhelming: “the flood has swept away everything it has passed through. He has divided the town in two from the White Cross, which is no longer there either. He has demolished the buildings, raised the roads, the gardens. The canals, the natural pool and so many other things no longer exist. It is difficult to understand it without seeing it and it is difficult to see it without breaking down.”

Rozalén says that “the deployment of special forces is brutal,” but asks that the people not be abandoned “when this stops giving a hearing.” “Hopefully all the aid that the institutions are promising will arrive.”
