Chris Martin de Coldplay gives ideas to cope with depression

Chris Martin, vocalist of Coldplay, has announced that he suffers from depression and has shared a series of recommendations to help those who also face this disease to relieve their symptoms. Among them, Martin suggests listening to Jon Hopkins’ music, which seems “psychedelic and incredible.” Hopkins collaborates with Coldplay for years.

“Lately I have noticed that some people, including me, are dealing with depression,” Martin communicates in a video published on Instagram. Then Martin shares the actions he takes during the Coldplay tour to cope with the disease.

In addition to listening to music, Martin recommends practicing “free writing”, which consists of “writing all your thoughts for 12 minutes and then the bones and throws,” and recommends exercising the “transcendental meditation.” In addition, he advises to prove the proprioception, which is “a kind of body movement that helps to balance the brain.” He says that there is “a method called Costello, which is very useful especially for young people with TDHA, autism and things like that.”

Martin also recommends two works of literature and cinema, the book ‘The oxygen approach’ by Patrick McKeown, which explores the breathing techniques of the Buteyko method, and the movie ‘Sing: come and sing!’

Martin’s suggestions can help anyone suffering from depression. Hopkins, by the way, participates in the last Coldplay album, ‘Moon Music’.
