It seems unbelievable that Ca7riel and Paco Amoroso are the same ones who starred in the biggest controversy at Lollapalooza Argentina last March. Instead of singing, playing or dancing, they limited themselves to eating sushi in a jacuzzi while showing their album, ‘BAÑO MARÍA’, to the thousands of people present.
Their Tiny Desk is the complete opposite and already has more than 1.6 million visits. During the 17 minutes of performance, recorded in a single take, the Argentine duo bring out their beginnings as progressive rock musicians in the group ASTOR, introducing bongos, drums, saxophone, trombone, trumpets and all kinds of arrangements closer to jazz that in the style of the original songs. If these seemed simple to you, they are now unrecognizable.
All without losing the humor that characterizes Ca7riel and Paco Amoroso, whose faces appear on the t-shirts of their musicians, only passed through a Chad filter. There are great moments in the concert: the piano solo in ‘EL ÚNICO’, the inclusion of ‘BAD BITCH’ and Ca7riel’s solo on the guitar…
However, the cake goes to the version of ‘LA QUE PUUEDE, PUEDE’, in which both the flow and the charisma of both artists totally shine. If you are one of those who did not understand the music of these Argentines, there is no excuse. There is a reason why the networks have been filled with comments claiming Argentine music and, especially, its young creators.
