After Lady Gaga’s spectacular concert on the opening day, the second day of Coachella has stood out for her political claims. Specifically, with the appearance of Bernie Sanders before Clairo’s set, which he has praised for using his “prominence to fight for women’s rights and to try to end the terrible war in Gaza.”
Sanders took the stage and before presenting the artist assured the thousands of people present that the United States was going through a difficult time and that “the future of what happens depends on your generation.” Then, he encouraged young people attending “fighting for economic, social and racial justice.”
This took the moment to dedicate a few words to the Trump administration, awakening the immediate boos of the crowd. “I agree,” Sanders reacted: “He thinks that climate change is a scam. It is dangerously wrong, and you and I are going to have to face the fossil fuel industry and tell them to stop destroying this planet ».
Before the appearance of Clairo, Sanders made it clear that he was there to present it, “not because they are a great band, and not because Clairo was already uploading internet videos with 13 years as a singer -songwriter”, but because “Clairo has used his prominence to fight for women’s rights, and to try to end the terrible and brutal war in Gaza.”
On the other hand, Charli XCX also gave one of the most memorable concerts of the day, inviting Troye Sivan, Billie Eilish and Lorde on stage to interpret their respective remixes. The latter happened to the witness of ‘Brat’, proclaiming next summer as the “Lorde Summer.” A few days ago, the New Zealand published a teaser that seemed to announce the arrival of her fourth album.
