Eurovision has confirmed the venue for its 2025 edition, which will take place in Switzerland following Nemo’s victory this year with ‘The Code’.
Basel, Switzerland’s third-largest city after Zurich and Geneva, will host the next edition of the Eurovision Song Contest, the festival has confirmed. In a statement, Martin Österdahl, Eurovision’s executive supervisor, said the European Broadcasting Union was “excited” by the choice of venue, especially since Switzerland was the site of the first Eurovision Song Contest in 1956, in the city of Lugano.
Eurovision has also confirmed that the venue for next year’s Eurovision Song Contest will be the St. Jakobshalle, a stadium located in Münchenstein, near Basel, with a capacity of 12,400 people.
The dates for the two semi-finals and the final of Eurovision 2025 have also been confirmed: the first semi-final will be held on 13 May and the second on 15 May, while the Grand Final will take place on Saturday 17 May.
In an interview with JENESAISPOP, Nemo talked about ‘The Code’, Eurovision and non-binary visibility, among other topics.
