Bad Bunny beats Taylor Swift in the Billboard 200 battle

‘I should have thrown more photos’, Bad Bunny’s new album, manages to climb from position 2 to position 1 on the Billboard 200, in what is its first full week available to the public. The album didn’t come out on a Friday, so he lost his first battle against Lil Baby, who had just released ‘WHAM’.

According to HDD forecasts, Bad Bunny was going to climb to number 1 during its second week, but Taylor Swift stood in its way. A live performance from the ‘Lover’ era was reissued after being exclusive to Record Store Day. The prediction is that Taylor would sell 158,000 copies and Bad Bunny would get the equivalent of 150,000. In the end it has not been like that.

Bad Bunny has managed to rise to 203,500 units, taking number 1 on the Billboard 200. Of them, 195,000 come from his monstrous streaming, coming from several virals such as ‘DtMF’ or ‘NUEVAYOL’, more than from his official singles. It’s the fourth one he gets. Taylor Swift has only 1,000 copies left, as ‘Lover: Live from Paris’ has reached 202,500 copies. Of them, 161,000 are from the vinyl reissue and the rest from the first digital edition of the album.

This weekend, Bad Bunny has also made headlines for selling 400,000 tickets for his residency in Puerto Rico in 4 hours.
