The Associated Music Journalists (PAM) association has announced the formation of its new board of directors, which seeks to “defend music journalism and give visibility to the problems of the sector.”
Manuel Pinazo, from Muzikalia, chairs the board, accompanied as vice-chairman by Sebas Alonso, from Jenesaispop. The assembly of members is made up of Alex Gara from Radio 3, Asier Lozano from Dod Magazine, Elena Cabrera from Eldiario.es, Esther Al-Athamna from Spotify and TikTok, Joan S. Luna from MondoSonoro, Laura Pardo from RNE, María Ballesteros, freelance journalist, and Tomás Mayo de Altafonte.
The new board of directors of the PAM is presented with the objective of “strengthening and revitalizing” the association and turning it into an “active and reference body within the music sector.” Among the agreed measures “institutional relations will be promoted, developing strategic links with other institutions and organizations in defense of the profession”, and work will be done on “maintaining fluid and constant communication with associates, being a platform that disseminates their work and news relevant.
In addition, “a debate forum will be created where members can discuss legal, labor, non-payment and subsidy questions, among other topics of interest.”
As for the Ruido Prize, it will be relaunched with “new bases that promote diversity and the variety of musical styles, ensuring that the richness of the current musical panorama is reflected.”
