Antònia Font and Liceu: Perfect lovers

The Tour of Salas and Theaters of Antònia Font has come to an end. And, in the absence of one last date at Mallorca Live Festival, the group will hibernate again. Therefore, for not knowing when we will see them again, for playing in such a special place for them as the Liceu is, the atmosphere in the auditorium was of happy expectation. We all knew the script, but we want to live it again.

The scenery of parabolic is maintained; The audiovisuals were more and better regarding their previous visit in the Palau de la Música. What is also maintained is the distribution of tasks: Pau had to monopolize all attention, with their voice boards (once again: how good it sings!), Making the entire room, not only the stage, with its contagious enthusiasm. Meanwhile, his four companions stayed there on the impertérritos stage (how well they play!). The repertoire did not change much either, although there were beautiful additions.

That the public is very delivered from the first minute: the initials ‘Cançó de Llum’ and ‘A stoboscòpica minut’ are already taken from palms. The beginning does not give truce, hits like ‘Darrera a magazine’, ‘Armando Rampas’, ‘Robot’, ‘Dins Aquest Iglú’, all driven by the charism of Debon. But, as recently explained to us, the concert is intended as a trip. And there is a more reconcentrated and melancholic part, where they recover small gems of the ‘Vostè here’: ‘Per Quèige come’ sounds especially apotheosic.

Even so, there are also times for delirium, such as the Tour of Force ‘Astronauta Rimador’, with Pau they had to walk through the armchair, or the exciting interpretation, hair and without micro (the acoustics of the Liceu help) of ‘Cartes de Ramiro’. But all this more reflective moment explodes in the air when they are started with ‘Tots is Motors’, in which all the public makes the rhythm based on palms while Pau again lets himself be loved between seats. ‘I am amb your’ marks a small pause, in which the public does not stop making “Lololo” at the rhythm of ‘Wah Yeah’.

For the Vuelta, they open a favorite of mine that do not usually play, ‘It’s Far de Ses Salines’, with some precious ends by Joan Miquel Oliver. And when Debon sings about “Per Failure of Lluna, Venus reflects to the sea”, oh, something is broken inside. The entire final third is pure joy, apotheosis and collective communion. Pau dedicates ‘bamboo’ to the children of all of the group, and breaks and cannot sing the second stanza. ‘Katiuscas Batiscafo’ is as exciting as ever. For ‘Clint Eastwood’ Pau gets on the third floor and we all look at him, of course, while the rest of the band stays there a bit forgotten. In ‘Vitamin Sol’ the stalls becomes an impromptu dance room, where we all dedicate ourselves to try to dance Valses while Pau directs us. The dismissal is maximum for ‘Wah Yeah’: unleashed joy, more lololos, while the band pauses another.

In the last Bis Pau gives us “the sheet” (in his words) to thank all the personnel who have accompanied them on the tour. He finishes with ‘Balearic Islands’, gets down again already taking a mass bath in ‘Calgary 88’, and no longer leaves it because, of course, all ‘Viure Sense your’, the end of the perfect party of Antònia Font. They say goodbye with all the staff up on stage. We do not want to let them go. Logical. Namely when we see them again …
