All “together among the shit” in ‘The party’ by shego

‘La fiesta’ by shego is the first single from what will be their second album, after ‘LUCK, CHICA’ in 2023, and they have taken one of the best paths: decadence and fun. ‘The party’ is the Song of the Day.

Charlotte, Maite and Raquel said in their Low Festival concert, one of the best of that day, that they were in the middle of a catalog renewal, with old songs that will disappear from the live show and new songs that will become part of it. One of these novelties was precisely ‘The Party’.

At the time, we at JENESAISPOP described it as “an absolute banger about surrendering to the dark side of partying.” Today, we stand by what we said. ‘The Party’ is built on a strident guitar riff, in the best of the senses, and some spoken verses that are full of gems like this: «I’ve been in an almost hypnotic loop for four days, four days of splicing and three weeks of probiotics », says Maite.

However, the chorus takes the cake. After all the misadventures they tell, in one way or another related to the party, they don’t want to miss any: “It doesn’t matter where the party is, we’re there.” Where? “All together in the shit.” At the end, an invitation for the brave: “Do you want to come?”
