Alison Goldfrapp looks for Xanadú on his new album

Alison Goldfrapp continues with his solo career. After publishing ‘The Love Invention’, one of the best albums of 2023, the English does not waste time and announces new album for this summer: ‘Flux’ comes out on August 15.

Aesthetics and sound of ‘Flux’ seem a direct continuation of ‘The Love Invention’. This is demonstrated by the first advance, ‘Find Xanadu’, produced to three hands by Goldfrapp and his usual collaborators Richard X and Stefan Storm, one of the two members of The Sound of Arrows.

“Xanadú” is that legendary place of the English popular imaginary – inspired in the ancient Mongolian empire – that offers a world of luxury, exoticism and splendor. Olivia Newton-John went to him in his 1980 ‘Xanadu’ success, and Goldfrapp now visits him in ‘Find Xanadu’. Alison’s whispered voice is ideal to narrate this story of sensuality and pleasure, located both on the dance floor and outside it. Of course, in ‘Find Xanadu’, physical and spiritual allusions mean more than one thing. Production is expected electropop fantasy, and Alison is completely given to it. Together with the beloved person, he melts in the “Groove” of love.
