Aitana’s ‘Second attempt’ is a success

Aitana has appeared in the media these days following the announcement of her new single, ‘Second attempt’, a moment that gossip magazines have taken advantage of to pair her with an ex. Aitana has decided to respond by denying the rumors and asking that her privacy be respected.

Attention towards Aitana should be diverted towards her music, especially since ‘Segundo Attempt’ is one of her best releases.

Aitana has been on a roll since the release of her album ‘alpha’ (2023), and there is no doubt that synthesized sounds suit her well. In ‘Second Attempt’, Ocaña bets on them again but, this time, he soaks up a decidedly British influence, so much so that, in the video clip for ‘Second Attempt’, he wears the flag of the United Kingdom.

‘Second attempt’ is a synth-pop and new-wave production dedicated to neon lights and the effectiveness of its instrumental keyboard chorus, which refers to that of ‘Enola Gay’ by Orchestral Maneuvers in the Dark or, of course, to from ‘Blinding Lights’ by The Weeknd. The question is whether ‘Second Attempt’ will conceptually mark the sound of Aitana’s fourth album, or will it be one flavor among many different ones.

In this composition that Aitana has written with Carolina Isabel Colón Juarbe, known by the alias GALE, and Nico Cotton, and which the latter produced, the Barcelona native narrates a breakup that she “saw coming”, although she says she is “healing” . As in ‘Dararí’, the dance floor saves her.
