It seems incredible, but the vaunted Oasis tour ended in November 2025, after passing through America, Asia, Australia and the United Kingdom. They dedicated almost 1 in every 3 dates to their country.
In the rumor mill it was assumed that 2026 would be the time for continental Europe, where Oasis were bigger than in America, but it was simply never announced. Nor the great festivals of our or another country.
With no known activity, the great fun is speculation and in recent days the rumors have been revived, perhaps given the proximity of his documentary, which arrives in Venice in a couple of weeks. Some say that Oasis could announce a new British and European tour for next year; that they could do a residency in Manchester, return to Knepworth (where they gave two very legendary concerts in 1996 for 250,000 people), or even do Glastonbury, whose organization they have said that they have already closed their headliners, officially ruling out Madonna.
What is certain is that they will play again soon. This was made clear in a tweet by Liam Gallagher a month ago. In it he joked about the pressure of recording an album again. “I’m not prepared for the criticism if it doesn’t sell 100 million copies in the first hour, if it doesn’t cure the entire nation’s bad breath and constipation, if it doesn’t turn back the clock for Cher and all that shit; “Let’s better play some concerts and be happy, thank you.”
On the other hand, we know that Noel Gallagher is recording new songs, or at least ideas in a cursory way, because he mentioned it in February, and now Johnny Marr corroborates it. As the NME notes, we simply have no way of finding out whether these are songs for Oasis or High Flying Birds, and even the latter sounds more likely at this point. Because how big would Noel’s single have to be for him to achieve all this at once?
