Turning the page on ‘T AMARÉ’, the least remembered Benidorm Fest winning song in its history – evidently because this year Spain has not participated in Eurovision and there has been no promotional campaign around the topic -, LUCYCALYS continues with its career and this Friday it publishes its first EP with a label called Kintsugi Records.
The EP, ‘DEL AMOR Y DEL MAR’, has summer as its main inspiration, and this is demonstrated by cuts like ‘Atardeceré’ or ‘Marina, Sal Marina’. Among them, the presentation single, ‘Tú pensa?’, stands out especially, which is promoted with a summer aesthetic video clip.
This is a collaboration with Cris Lora, winner of Operación Triunfo 2025, produced by regular LUCYCALYS collaborator, Tony Grox. Musically, the song proposes a fusion of pop, jersey club rhythms and merengue, so it sounds like a kind of electronic and evolved ‘Desphá’, although it chooses to culminate with some festive choruses with a very rumba feel.
Without the hook, a priori, of Rosalía’s success or other similar phenomena that we have known in recent years, ‘Do you think?’ It manages to be a nice and interesting song in the sound section, while its lyrics are committed to self-love. “Just because I listened to you doesn’t give you the right to destroy / My words count, don’t take away my wings,” they sing.
The song, with aspirations of a summer anthem, only thinks about the beach and enjoying with friends: “I’m no longer interested in having someone who doesn’t love me / It doesn’t matter what happens / I want to be dark, with the girls lying in the sand.” The title, ‘Do you think?’, seems to allude to the lack of emotional intelligence of the person to whom the lyrics are addressed.
