A couple of months ago, shortly after the Spanish tour of Tom Smithits vocalist, Editors They released a first preview single to which “The Rush” is now added.
First there was “Call It In” and now comes “The Rush”, the song that the British Editors have decided to use to announce the release date and title of what will be their eighth full-length.
“Surface, Echo & Sound” will see the light next October 30 through Play It Again Sam, to present it in our territory about three months later.
Tom Smith, vocalist of the band, describes this new single as “a scene of two people in a bar talking about life, drinking and reflecting on the ups and downs we go through. It seeks to reflect the comfort of finding close people with whom to share that intimacy.”
The group is also still celebrating twenty years since the release of their first album and the one that made them one of the most attractive names on the British alternative scene, “The Back Room” (05), which launched (PIAS). Since then the group has been combining its dark sound with synthesizers and electronics, in a search to continue advancing as a band.
The concerts will be held in Madrid (Friday, January 29, 2027, La Riviera), Valencia (Saturday, January 30, Roig Arena Auditorium) and Barcelona (Sunday, January 31, Sala Razzmatazz). Tickets are available at www.lasttour.org.
