Mike D (Beastie Boys) announces exclusive concert in Barcelona

The artist Mike D.band member Beastie Boysnot only has he released “Switch Up,” his first song as a solo artist, but he has just announced a date in Barcelona for within a month, organized by Primavera Sound.

The single is the first new music from any member of Beastie Boys since the publication of “Hot Sauce Committee Part Two” in 2011.

“Switch Up” was born as a creative test in the studio that Mike D. has at home, while working with his children Davis and Skyler Diamondmembers of the indie-dance duo Very Nice Personn. On April 11, the Diamond brothers surprised the public by inviting their father to go on stage to perform songs from Beastie Boys like “Looking Down the Barrel of a Gun” and “So What’cha Want.” They also participated in the production of the song Very Nice Person and Carter Lang.

Since the death of Adam Yauch in 2012, Mike D. has not appeared again with Beastie Boys. Even so, the band’s influence has remained valid thanks to vinyl reissues, a compilation of hits, a documentary made by Spike Jonze and even a memorial plaza in New York City, located at the intersection of Ludlow and Rivington, the place where the cover photo of “Paul’s Boutique”.

But the great news is that Mike D. will be performing next June 16 at La (2) de Apolo in Barcelona, ​​in an exclusive concert with reduced capacity. It will be a performance in which he will combine Beastie Boys material with his solo material. Tickets will be on sale at Fever from May 15 at 11:00 at a price of €30 plus distribution costs
