The festival In other words of CaixaForum Barcelona It dedicates an important part of its programming to proposals that explore the relationship between music and language.
The musical program began on May 7 with a session of Acosta Girlpoet, writer and DJ who works at the intersection between sound, memory and language. Their set will combine downtempo, spoken word, dub and ambient in a proposal designed to connect with the literary universe of the festival.
On May 10 it will be the journalist’s turn and DJ Phil E. Bloomfieldcollaborator of media such as Pitchfork or The Guardian, who will offer a session focused on vocal music and deconstructions of rock and folk. That same day he will perform Jenny Hvalone of the most unique figures of the Norwegian experimental scene, who will present his new album “Iris Silver Mist”inspired by the emotional void caused by the disappearance of live music during the pandemic.
The CaixaForum Barcelona terrace will also host the vespreig poètic, a meeting that unites literature and music. Yesterday May 8 participated Ricardo Lezonleader of McEnroeand the writer Blanca Lacasa with “The slowness”a proposal focused on pause and contemplation.
On May 15, Irene Pujadas and Joan Pons Villaró (El Petit de Cal Eril) They will star in “Boredom”, a musical and literary conversation about boredom and the value of doing nothing.
Finally, on May 16, the singer-songwriter Lorena Alvarez and cultural criticism Lucia Lijtmaer will close this section with “The transit”a meeting that will explore vital and creative experiences through music and reading.
