Lori Meyers hates breakup weekend “absolutely”

Lori Meyers have recently presented the song with which they introduce their new album, the first in 5 years, the first since ‘Espacios infinites’. ‘En lo total’ is a grower that reveals its status as a post-breakup song. It’s the Song of the Day.

First you realize that the narrator is having a hard time but hasn’t yet told his friends why. Then there is the wonderful “middle eight” of “I hate the weekend so much”. But Noni – the author in this case – does not hate all weekends, but rather “the weekend that you told me was over.” Local scenes of a bedroom discussion are included: “It’s four in the morning / Your clothes are thrown on my bed / You don’t say good night / You only say reproaches.”

Slightly funk and with some parts in the verses in which guitars barely appear, ‘En lo total’ is a 100% Lori Meyers recording that boasts a small evolution under the direction of Ferran Gisbert. This is how they thank in the note their dedication to the guitarist and regular collaborator of Alizzz, among others:

«We want to thank Ferran, whom we practically kidnapped for two years in our particular ‘Hostal Pimodán’ to produce the album. There have been many hours, many beers, the occasional extraction shooter and quite a few moments looking into infinity when nothing came out. But it was the process we needed.

The video is first a constant “zoom in” to Noni between pizzas, coffees, drinks and card games with which the aim is to leave that disappointment behind… then a “zoom out”… and finally a little of everything. Directed by Gustavo Carballo.

Lori Meyers are Festial headliners! in Alcázar de San Juan, where Rigoberta Bandini, Las Petunias, Niña Polaca, etc. also perform. JENESAISPOP is the official media of this event. More dates on their website.
