Kid Cudi has thrown out MINE of her opening act on her current North American tour. The cause was the singer’s comments from the stage.
“After the last few concerts, I have received an avalanche of messages from fans who were upset by his rantings,” he wrote. Kid Cudi in an Instagram story. “This, for me, is very disappointing and I will not allow anyone on my tour to make offensive comments that upset my fan base.”
MINE made several controversial comments during his performance last Saturday (May 2) in Dallas. They included statements in which she described herself as a Republican and said, “I can’t do ‘Illygal,’ even though some of you might be in the audience.” To boos from the audience, he responded: “Okay, I’m illegal. Half my team isn’t here because they didn’t get a visa, okay? I want you to know that. So don’t listen to what the bots say on the internet. Once you’re that, always that… we should be above politics.”
In one post on, MINE responded quickly after being removed from the tour. “I WROTE “BORDERS” AND “ILLYGAL” AND “PAPER PLANES” BEFORE YOU THOUGHT IMMIGRANT RIGHTS WERE COOL,” part of the message reads. “I HAVE HAD THESE BATTLES ALONE WITHOUT THE HELP OF MILLIONS OF FANS SUPPORTING ME. I DON’T NEED THIS ERA OF VIRTUE SIGNALING TO SUDDENLY ERASE AN ENTIRE LIFE I HAVE LIVED. JESUS WAS AN IMMIGRANT AND A REBEL.”
