Brady Ebert (former Turnstile) could face life in prison

Brady Ebertformer guitarist of Turnstilecould face life in prison after a new charge of first-degree murder.

The guitarist, who split from the band in 2022, was arrested for attempted second degree murder and first degree assault after hitting William Yates, the vocalist’s father, with his car Brendan Yateslast March. Now, the Baltimore Banner reports, the Montgomery County jury has upgraded the charges against Ebert to include attempted first degree murderwhich could result in a sentence of up to life imprisonment.

He is currently being held at the Baltimore County Correctional Facility. without the right to bail. However, the musician has maintained his innocencedeclaring that the attack was in self-defense and that they (his former teammates) are the attackers. The guitarist will appear in court again on May 8.

Turnstile later testified that Ebert had caused “serious physical trauma” by running over William, who underwent emergency surgery and “hoped for the best possible recovery.” The band addressed the issue during their concert in Coachellawith a video of William Yates wishing the audience to enjoy the concert to the fullest.

Since his departure from Turnstile in 2022, Ebert has been involved in many conflictive episodes, some of which have ended with complaints from the Yates family. So much so that, a few days after announcing the debut of his new band, The SEThis own colleagues in this musical project announced in the media that Ebert had been expelled from the group.
