Alex Ligertwoodwho was former vocalist of the rock band Santana for fifteen years, he died at seventy-nine years of age. The musician died shortly after his last concert.
The musician died last April 30 at his home in Santa Monica, California, while he was sleeping. It was his wife, Shawn Brogan, who reported the death in a statement. The Scot had just ended his career, having given his last concert a few weeks before his death.

Ligertwood played with a wide range of artists, but is primarily remembered for his time as lead vocalist for Santana between 1979 and 1994. His voice defined that era of the band, participating in albums such as “Marathon” (1979), “Zebop!” (1981) and “Sacred Fire: Live In South America” (1993).His musical career began in the 1950s, working with The Senate, The Jeff Beck Group and Average White Band. His last solo album, “Outside The Box”, was released in 2019.
