Ariana Grande has officially confirmed her eighth studio album, ‘Petal’. The album will be released on July 31, a date that, together with its already revealed cover, makes it clear that it is the successor to ‘eternal sunshine’ (2024) and not an isolated release. The album will be made up of 12 songs, as can be seen in the Spotify pre-save.
In recent weeks, the artist had fueled speculation with images from the recording studio, while the title ‘Petal’ – which inevitably recalls the song ‘Petals’ (1999) by her musical idol and collaborator Mariah Carey – was already circulating strongly on social networks.
The release of ‘Petal’ will coincide with the development of the ‘eternal sunshine’ tour, which kicks off on June 6 in Oakland and ends on September 1 at the O2 Arena in London. It is not the first time that this has happened in Grande’s career, since her album ‘thank, u next’ (2019) hit the market during the development of the ‘Sweetener’ tour (2018), even going so far as to incorporate songs from the new album into the tour repertoire.
In 2027, Ariana Grande will return to the theater to star alongside her Wicked co-star Jonathan Bailey in the new adaptation of ‘Sunday in the Park with George’.
