American singer D4vd has been charged with murder for the death of Celeste Rivas, a 14-year-old girl. His dismembered and decomposing body was found in a Tesla owned by the artist at the end of September last year. The singer, whose real name is David Anthony Burke, faces life in prison or the death penalty.
D4vd, 21, has been charged with two other counts, lewd and lascivious acts with a child under 14 and mutilation of a corpse.
Prosecutors claim that D4vd killed Celeste with a “sharp tool” and place the date of the murder on April 23, 2025, but indicate that the artist dismembered her a few weeks later, on May 5. Celeste’s body remained hidden for four months inside the Tesla, parked in a scrap yard in California. Additionally, they indicate that D4vd sexually abused Celeste between 2023 and 2024.
TMZ confirms that Interscope Records fired the artist at the end of 2025 after the first news became known, but that it has decided to reveal this information once the artist has been charged.
D4vd is one of the leading alternative pop-rock artists of the TikTok era and his two most popular singles, ‘Here with Me’ and ‘Romantic Homicide’, reach close to 2 billion streams on Spotify alone.
