Oasis, Phill Collins and Sade are among the eight new names inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, the famous museum located in Cleveland, Ohio dedicated to preserving the history of rock music and highlighting the artists, producers, engineers and other professionals who have marked its evolution.
Six of the Hall’s new members are British, also including Billy Idol, Joy Division/New Order and Iron Maiden. The other two come from the United States, Luther Vandross and Wu-Tang Clan.
Collins is one of the few artists to appear twice in the Hall, now as a soloist and previously as a member of Genesis, who entered in 2010.
In addition, a specific award will be given for “early influence”, aimed at artists such as Celia Cruz, Fela Kuti and Gram Parsons.
The “induction ceremony” will take place on November 14 in Los Angeles, and is scheduled to air in December on ABC and Disney+.
Failed to be admitted to the Hall of Fame, this time, nominated artists such as Jeff Buckley, Mariah Carey or Ms. Lauryn Hill.
