The British duo Sleaford Mods has presented a new version of his song “Elitest GOAT” with a powerful remix signed by Liam Howlett of The Prodigy.
The person in charge of reinterpreting the song has been Liam Howlett, member of The Prodigy, who transforms the original song into a more aggressive and electronic piece. The result combines acid rhythms, intense synthesizers and the characteristic vocal attitude of Jason Williamson. The remix, titled “Acid Thunder Remix,” maintains the vocals of the singer’s original track. Aldous Harding.
The original version is part of the album “The Demise Of Planetpublished this year and which reached the Top 10 in the United Kingdom. With this remix, both groups reinforce a creative connection that dates back to 2015, when Williamson collaborated on The Prodigy’s song “Ibiza.”
In addition to the main remix, Andrew Fearn, the other half of Sleaford Mods, has created his own reinterpretation under the alias Extnddntwrkproviding a more experimental vision of the topic.
The release is available both on digital platforms and in two limited editions on seven-inch vinyl, scheduled for June 26. These will include different versions of the remix, consolidating this collaboration as one of the most powerful crossovers between electronica and current post-punk.
