“The weeds”by the Andalusian musician July of the Roseis his new album that consists of eleven songs in which he carefully deals with human relationships.
After publishing several previews such as “Perorata”, “El no por ante” and “Pamema”, De la Rosa presents “The Weeds”his new album. An album of eleven songs that deal with topics such as envy, disenchantment or the uncomfortable truths that grow in personal relationships.
The project is titled this way because while the musician was reading The Jungle Book to his daughter, he came across the phrase “I will teach you to recognize all the flowers in the world.” To which Julio added “and also the weeds.” This concept of understanding what is happening around us and not just what we would like to see has ended up giving name to an album where human relationships are treated with attention.
In the songs we find unpunctual or charlatan characters, but the work does not seek to dramatize these attitudes, but rather to observe them while mixing tones of irony and a “bad temper” that characterize the entire album.
“The weeds” It could seem like a rock album without guitars, since instead of basing the work on the usual instruments of the genre, Julio builds a sound current through sounds less frequent in these styles.
