Mishima publishes “Només amics” and celebrates The Night of the Roses with concerts in Barcelona, Reus, Camós and Bellvís where they will be accompanied by outstanding voices of Catalan literature such as Eva Baltasar or Pol Guasch, among others.
A week and a half before the start of the series of four concerts of the fourth edition of The Night of the Roses, Mishima publishes “Només amics”, Catalan adaptation of “Back to Friends”, interplanetary success of Shane Michael Boosebetter known as Shadow.
Thanks to the boost of platforms like TikTok, the song by the young New York artist has accumulated almost two billion views on Spotify and now completes the surprising quartet of rereadings that the Barcelona band started with “Roses” (“Flowers”, by Miley Cyrus), “La diablessa” (“The Devil”, by Xavi) and “HdHFMD” (“DtMF”, of Bad Bunny).
The idea of releasing a Catalan version of a global hit every year fits with the objective of The Night of the Roses: give back to society, popular music and the Catalan language a small part of what they give us. Since his return on April 21, 2023 to The Dove (Barcelona), after sixteen years closed, the event maintains its format: it begins with the band accompanying representatives of NGOs, continues with readings by Catalan writers and culminates with the surprise of the encore, where Mishima performs “Només amics” for the first time live.
If in the three previous editions the selection of writers who accepted the band’s invitation was already a true luxury, this year it is even more so. He April 18 in Camós (Recòndit): Pilar Codony, Mar Bosch and Marta Pasqual. On the 22nd in Barcelona (La Paloma): Pol Guasch, Eva Baltasar, Carlota Gurt and Biel Mesquida. On the 24th in Bellvís (Saó de Bellvís Festival): Gabriel Ventura, Meritxell Cucurella-Jorba and Andreu Gomila.
