American Footballone of the most important references of the midwest emowill have a new album in May, but to make the wait more bearable they have just released “No Feeling” for which they have no less than Brendan Yatesvocalist of Turnstile.
Americans American Football has already accustomed us to environmental and atmospheric themes, but always within its line. And there his new song “No Feeling” fits like a glove, a song that joins “Bad Moons” as a preview of what will be his long-awaited fourth studio album, “LP4”which will see the light of day from Polyvinyl once again.
But while that hasn’t been a surprise, what is is that they have had none other than Brendan Yates, Turnstile’s vocalist, to join Mike Kinsella’s vocals on the song. The song is added to the eight minutes of “Bad Moons” to maintain the excitement for the album and reflect what the group is today.
Of course, Yates is in charge of backing vocals on the song. The idea was that his voice would be one of the many that would appear in this song as a collective surprise, but finally, due to how well American Football was working, they decided that those second voices would be in the hands exclusively of the leader of Turnstile.
Now we just have to wait for the publication of “LP4”which will arrive next May 1 to complete a trajectory that had as its last link “LP3” in 2019 and “Covers” (24), the album in which artists like Iron & Wine, Ethel Cain, Novo Amor or Manchester Orchestra They paid tribute to them by covering the songs from their first album on the occasion of their twenty-fifth anniversary.
