Taylor Swift reappears at the iHeart Radio Music Awards

Taylor Swift and Miley Cyrus are among the artists who have been honored tonight at the 13th edition of the iHeartRadio Music Awards, the annual music awards ceremony organized by the radio company iHeartMedia, which recognizes the most popular artists, songs and albums of the year based on radio airplay and impact on digital platforms.

Swift has collected the awards for Artist of the Year and Pop Album of the Year and, although she has not performed, her appearance has been one of the most talked about, since the author of ‘The Life of a Showgirl’ had not been seen at a public event for months.

Swift, who attended the event accompanied by her fiancé, Travis Kelce, collected awards from Alysa Liu and RAYE, and gave advice to emerging artists: “I hope you can cultivate that passion just between you and that art, and that you give yourself time to make mistakes and perfect your skill,” she said. «I firmly believe that everything you feed into your mind, it internalizes; and everything you give to the internet, it will try to destroy it, and I don’t want that for your dreams.

Miley Cyrus has been another of the outstanding award-winning artists, with the Innovation award. In her speech, Cyrus recalled the 20th anniversary of ‘Hannah Montana’ and noted that, for her, innovation has not meant leaving who she is behind, but rather “continuing to have fun” while searching for her own identity.

The iHeart Radio Music Awards ceremony was presented by rapper Ludacris and featured outstanding musical performances by RAYE – who releases an album today -, Kehlani and Alex Warren, as well as a joint performance by three iconic R&B girl bands: TLC, Salt-N-Pepa and En Vogue.
