Gelli Haha is the artist who is bringing the colors back to pop, as was clear with the sound of her album ‘Switcheroo’ (2025) and in the aesthetics of her fanciful video clips, to the point that Haha has invented her own universe, which she calls Gelliverso.
The artist, originally from Idaho, has become known above all with the single ‘Bounce House’ and with an aesthetic of childish surrealism and bubblegum, and that is exactly what she offers in her new single just released.
The sound of ‘Klouds Will Carry Me to Sleep’ sounds clearly evolved from that of ‘Switcheroo’, although the song has been included after the fact at the end of the album, signaling that Haha has not yet turned the page on the era that frames his fantastic debut. In fact, the reason for the release of “Klouds” is the start of the album’s tour, which passes through Spain in June.
‘Klouds Will Carry Me to Sleep’ offers a journey halfway between a video game and a sensory hallucination, imagining what 80s new wave would sound like in the 21st century. The festive and light component of its melody and chorus is complemented by a futuristic production, full of melodic and rhythmic outbursts and packed with textures, with an almost multidimensional feel.
‘Klouds Will Carry Me to Sleep’ is presented with a video clip directed by David Gutel that will make you think of the first Sia and, above all, of Katy Perry from ‘Teenage Dream’ (2010), with a Gelli Haha driving through the clouds.
