I don’t know if I love Bella Kay

Bella Kay, who just turned 20 this week, is already number 1 in countries like Ireland and Norway with her single ‘iloveitiloveitiloveit’. In addition, it is fighting to reach the top in the United Kingdom, where it currently climbs to the top 2, and has reached the top 20 in the United States.

Originally from Texas but located in Orlando, the singer stood out last year with one of the songs contained in her first self-released EP, ‘sick to my stomach’. The song that opened it, ‘The Sick’, had some prominence on the networks, but it was ‘iloveitiloveitiloveit’ that ended up sweeping it. A nice song, that’s for sure, but due to its simplicity, it was difficult to see coming. One fact: Bella Kay’s label is called Bella Kay.

The young Jewel comes to mind when listening to his sometimes torn guitar compositions. She’s not as poppy as the type of artists we see following on social media, from Beyoncé to Sabrina Carpenter to Olivia Dean and Olivia Rodrigo, very rarely resorting to drum machines or any ornamentation.

It’s as a self-released singer-songwriter that she’s made a name for herself, and the virality of ‘iloveitiloveitiloveit’ is especially visible on TikTok, where people share her videos crying about their own toxic relationships. And that is precisely the theme of what is being one of the most popular songs of 2026, although it has not yet reached Spain.

‘iloveitiloveitiloveit’ constantly talks about “relapse” into a toxic relationship that Bella Kay is unable to get out of. “I love it when we fight and I love your pettiness / We don’t have to go into what that says about me right now,” ironically poses one of the most shared phrases, in addition to “you’re a bad idea.”

This hit belongs to a second EP called ‘A Couple Minutes Out’ (“I’m a couple of minutes away from relapsing,” said the lyrics of “iloveit”), which also contains two other songs called ‘Steady’ and ‘wonder wander’. We’ll see if as her repertoire establishes itself, the balance tips towards the universality of Olivia Dean and Adele, or if she has had a stroke of luck.
