4, 3, 2, 1: Killer Barbies returns with a new album and book

Killer Barbies, the glam rock duo that, back in 1995, sold thousands of copies of their debut, ‘Dressed to Kiss’, released on an independent record label, and who achieved fame in Spain after appearing in the film ‘Killer Barbys’ ( 1996) by Jesús Franco, inspired by the band and starring Santiago Segura, has announced its return to the stage, a return that will come hand in hand with the launch of a new album of unreleased material, and a new biography.

The Killer Barbies duo, formed by Silvia Superstar and Billy King, will celebrate 30 years of career by releasing a new album, ‘El pop will self-destruct in 4, 3, 2, 1’, on May 9 through Subterfuge. The first preview, ‘I want your heart and nothing else’, can be heard starting December 13. ‘I want your heart and nothing else’ is a “shot of illusion with eighties touches and moments that recall artists like Billy Idol or Blondie.”

Killer Barbies is also preparing the launch of a book, a biography “full of anecdotes, photos and unpublished documents and in which many of the musicians and artists who have accompanied the band during all these years participate.” Killer Barbies’ latest album, ‘Vive le Punk’, was released in 2020.

The return of Killer Barbies will materialize with a first presentation concert of ‘El pop will autodestruct in 4, 3, 2, 1’, which will take place on May 20 at the Sala El Sol in Madrid. Tickets are on sale.
