Today (I went out for a walk) is the new single from Yorcha song that serves as an interlude as she finishes her next LP, Course in persecutory harmony planned for spring 2025. Miguel Rivera produces this preview and we premiere a lyric video that is also excellent.
Yorch reappears with this lyrical stroll, to commemorate the arrival of autumn, walks at dusk and looks back. The song turns out to be a flash of joyful and celebratory pop that reflects a walk together through the Madrid neighborhood of Lavapiés. Today (I went out for a walk) It is Yorch’s second collaboration with Miguel Rivera (although as a producer, the first), since both also coincided in Interior Exteriorwhere the composer and leader of Maga sang a duet of one of the main verses of a song with a post-pandemic spirit.
The song is accompanied by a beautiful lyric video made by the Spanish-Canadian artist. Maeva Mendoza (also the author of the single cover) which, with beautiful illustrations created and animated by hand by the designer and, in other cases, drawn from videos made by Jorge Naranjo (the filmmaker who hides behind the pseudonym Yorch) helps us accompany the protagonist of the single through this daytime, nighttime and, without a doubt, taciturn Madrid.
Although this single has its own unit and, in principle, will not be part of the new album, Yorch (artist selected in 2024 by the Accelerator of Musical Projects of the Paideia Galiza Foundation) continues to work with the producer Crazy Paco in Course in persecutory harmonyhis third LP, a collection of ten songs where he reformulates his musical and compositional style and whose release is scheduled for the second quarter of 2025. In the meantime, let’s enjoy the walk with this “Sevillan from Lavapiés” through the most autumnal autumn and the most pop pop.
