Womad Cáceres announces its poster

The festival Womad Caceres 2024 presents us with the poster for its 31st edition with voices from fourteen different countries. It is the first with new managers in our territory, Sonde3.

From May 9 to 12 on the stages of the Plaza Mayor and Plaza de San Jorge Melodies from all continents will be heard, there will be workshops aimed at families, readings for the elderly, screenings of interesting documentaries, theater, dance, gastronomy.

The festival opens with percussion training Time to time, a self-managed and unique project in Cáceres. To be continue Lurawhich travels from Portugal and Cape Verde, followed by the Mexican band They are Pear Breakerscharacterized by its passion for uniting the most classic and organic sounds of its land, with the strength of punk.

You can also enjoy the group's performance Tiger Man, electro-indie trio based in Cáceres. Will continue with the group Wistimberthe Cáceres Chloé Bird – Recognized for her skill as a pianist – and UK-based training, Afriquoi, originating from Africa, the Caribbean and the United Kingdom. They will follow them Mitsunethe Berlin-based Japanese neo-folk fusion band, and the Catalan group Marala. The highlights will be, without a doubt, the powerful soul singer, Shirley Davis & The Silverbacks and the mythical ones of Asian Dub Foundationwho celebrate with us their thirty-year career on stage.

He will continue with three local bands: Dixie Kong Bandwho will perform jazz songs, specifically music dixie; Michel Duransinger and composer of genres such as rap, trap, dancehall and other common sounds of urban music; and Underground, with indie rock with garage and psychedelic overtones. Will continue with LK Funkwith its funky rhythms mixed with rap, the charismatic Mr. Kilombo and indian hip hop band TA Dhom Project. Finally, Old Farka Touré – son of Ali Farka Toure -, the London duo 0. and the hip hop band Palestine DAMa unique fusion of East and West.

To end the last day, May 12, there will be the last of the children's workshops Fratelli Mocha at the Pedrilla Museum, and the event will close with a now classic parade, in the gardens of the same Museum, led by the group Extretucate.
