Surprise at the Emmys. Even in what is the farewell year for ‘Hacks’, another comedy has managed to win most of the awards, including Best Comedy. ‘The Curse of Widow’s Bay’, a mix of comedy, thriller and the truth is that also some drama, available on Apple TV, has taken 14 of the 19 statuettes it aspired to. That has not prevented Jean Smart from collecting her traditional award for Best Actress for her role as Deborah Vance in ‘Hacks’.
In Drama, the big winner has been ‘The Pitt’, recognized as Best Drama Series and Best Actor for Noah Wyle, although as El País emphasizes, it is also notable that there have been several recognitions for ‘Pluribus’. In miniseries, and as we predicted a few days ago, the big winner was ‘DTF St Louis’. David Harbor can make up for his public image crisis after his controversial divorce from Lily Allen, by being recognized as Best Supporting Actor for this same fiction.
