Why The Warning sells out in Spain

The Warning is a hard rock band from Monterrey, Mexico that, with songs like ‘Money’, ‘Choke’ or ‘Disciple’, has achieved enormous popularity in recent years. Queens of the Stone Age, The White Stripes and Muse – who they have supported – are among the references that their music evokes. The Warning’s latest album, ‘ERROR’, was released last year, leading its Spanish audience to sell out concerts that the trio offered at La Nau in Barcelona and the Soko hall in Madrid.

The group, formed by sisters Daniela, Paulina and Alejandra Villarreal Vélez, is unstoppable and has announced a new tour in Spain for 2024, in which it will make a leap to larger capacity venues: the dates are April 4 at La Riviera de Madrid, on April 6 at the Capital room in Santiago de Compostela, on April 8 at the Razzmatazz room in Barcelona and on April 9 at the Kafe Antzokia in Bilbao. Tickets will go on sale on Friday, November 24 at 10 a.m., with pre-sale on November 23 also at 10 a.m.

The Warning became known back in 2013 after uploading their rehearsed performances in the Rock Band video game to YouTube. At a time when its members are between 9 and 14 years old (Daniela was born in 2000, Paulina in 2002 and Alejandra in 2004), one of their videos, in which the group covers ‘Enter Sandman’ by Metallica, It goes viral in a big way, getting 20 million views and reaching the attention of guitarist Kirk Hammett, who praises the girls’ talent.

From this moment, The Warning begins its rise. In 2015, the very young sisters gained some media attention by appearing on Ellen DeGeneres’ show and, in 2017, they released their debut album, ‘XXI Century Blood’, which led the trio to play as the opening act for The Killers in Monterrey. Their second album, ‘Queen of the Murder Scene’, was released in 2018. ‘Survive’ and ‘Dust to Dust’ were among The Warning’s first big hits before the trio took the step, in 2020, from sign for Lava Records, a subsidiary of Universal that accompanies him in his current stage.

It is that year in which ‘The Metallica Blacklist’ is released, the mammoth album of collaborations and versions of Metallica, in which The Warning, closing the circle, appears recovering their version of ‘Enter Sandman’ accompanied by Alessia Cara. Adding another milestone to their career after opening for Foo Fighters in early 2022, in the summer of that year the sisters’ third album, ‘ERROR’, was released, giving The Warning their first entries on the Billboard rock charts. The multimillion-dollar listens to ‘Money’ and ‘Choke’, to which have been added, this year, those of the single single ‘More’, confirm that The Warning is here to stay.
