We premiere “Urtu”, Zabala's new video clip

“Urtu” is the first preview of the Basque musician and producer's second album Zabala, outlining suggestive and epic electronic music. Today we present the video clip one day before its official premiere.

In Basque, urtu It means “melt” and is the intention Zabala with your new single, which works as a preview of what will be their second album, available in autumn. With “Urtu”, the Basque producer wraps us in a sound piece that reflects a dichotomy between the ethereal and the solid. Zabala describe the track as “a fight between something magical that wants to fly with the synthesizers, the kalimbas and the voices sampled; and something earthly that tries to anchor us to the ground, through a rhythmic, simple and repetitive base that draws on the British influence of the 2-step“.

“Urtu” is completed with the work developed by the video-creator and artist Rafa Zubiriawhich once again collaborates side by side with Zabala. The abstract and the everyday merge creating an elegant short film that takes us to the vibrant communities of Chinese opera companies Lai Heng Giah Tuang, Sai Yong Hong and Po Teng Tung in Bangkok, in a spectacular video released on the artistic platform Nownesss Asia. The Bilbao native's music works as a contrast between something as raw and direct as Chinese opera, its protagonists, and the holograms and special effects generated by new technologies.
