We premiere “Static Txomin”, second preview of the new Ezezez album

The Biscay Quartet Ezezez He tells us, in his new advance single, a story about a fox that does not want to be or do what is expected of him.

After the explosive “point”, Ezezez He is back with “Static Txomin”, another example of the overwhelming sound that we will find in his second LP that will see the light soon. “In a forest, a fox lives sad and restless, between reveries about what could have been if his life began again, or if he had not played fox. He is not as fast as his companions, and he also does not have large skills of thief. If you do not expect from it only to be a fox, it would be finally happy. ” “Static Txomin” starts from this metaphor in a story key to attack against the pressure that society exerts on the individual, especially in those who do not find their place so easily, or do not identify with what society expects from them (a body, a character, a tradition). The quartet defends self -determination and the importance of self -love while aiming and shooting on alienation, determinism and peer pressure. Without losing humor or falling into toxic optimism, the band sends a clear message to all those people (and animals) who feel pressure for not being those who are expected of them: “Go to your rhythm and try not to worry about it, give space and time to things. And trust yourself.”

The song, which includes a wink to Bob Marley and its “get up stand up” (1973), a generational cry that fights against oppression, has a galloping battery rhythm with punk reminiscences and a low line that is pure drive, on which a furious and forceful voice rises. Next to its four riders, Unai Madariaga (voice, rhythmic guitar), Eneko Ajangiz (solo guitar), Mikel Irigoyen (bass) and Álvaro Olaetxea (drums), adds Kike Atxe to the trumpet for the occasion. As for the recording, they continue to bet on the DIY philosophy: it has been produced and recorded by Eneko, mixed by Eneko and Álvaro, and mastered by Álvaro.

The song is accompanied by a video cup directed by Unai and Eneko, and recorded and edited by the already recurring Iyán Altube.
