We premiere “Luces Negras”, a new preview of Juárez’s 5th album

The Navarrese band Juarez presents us with the second preview of the album “The cycle of the sun and the end of days”which will be released in November under the label Lunar Discs.

“Luces Negras” is the second single from what will be the fifth LP of Juarez, “The cycle of the sun and the end of days”which will be released on November 7th in digital and vinyl format. A song about longings and disagreements, which exudes clarity and redemption despite the darkness of the light that gives it its title. In this song they have the collaboration of Germán Carrascosa, outstanding guitarist and friend, regular member of the Sonny & the Sunsets line-up on their European tours and especially at the front of “Germán y la Alegría del Barrio”. For the recording and composition of this album they isolated themselves in an old farmhouse in the middle of the forest in Arantza, a small town in the north of Navarra, for a week with the music producer Guillermo Mutiloa.

Juarez It is made up of Cristina Sixtina (guitar and vocals), Jose Capilla (guitar and vocals), Hispano Rodríguez (bass), Izaskun Munárriz (keyboards) and Iñigo Maya (drums). In October 2020 they published “Among palm trees”an album that we told you sounded “solid as a rock. Magnetic as a magnet. Versatile as an all-rounder. And recognizable, very recognizable. With a pronounced personality.” In 2022 “waning moon” (Caballito Records, Lunar Discos and Nébula Producciones) maintained the pulse of their previous album with which they underpinned their best moment, and also added more colors to their clear and brilliant sound rainbow. Now they return with a handful of new songs, a surprising, different album where the band’s most twilight side can be felt.

The video clip was recorded during the recording of the album in March 2024, and features editing by Cristina Aranguren.
