The Navarrese trio Virenque publishes the second preview of “Falsollano”his seventh release that will be released on Friday, November 8.
Virenque It was formed in 2011 and is made up of Eneko Leza (bass), Eneko Zabalza (vocals and guitar) and Aritz Gonzalez (drums). They have published 3 albums and three EPs to date, immersing themselves in the different rhythms, melodies and intensities of alternative rock. The last one arrived in 2022, “Southern”where his forceful guitars, accessible rhythms, and everyday lyrics, glutinous and full of sincerity, stood out. In their more than 10 years of experience they have performed on more than 80 stages around the peninsula, such as IruñaRock 2022 or the San Isidro festival in Madrid, in addition to performing as a duo in New York, among many other venues.
His new album, “Falsollano”with all the lyrics in Basque (after moving through three languages in previous works: Basque, Spanish and English), was recorded and mixed by Santi García last June at the Ultramarinos Costa Brava studios. Víctor García took charge of the mastering a month later at Ultramarinos mastering studios. The song, which comes after the first preview, “Anitzak”, is accompanied by a video scripted, edited and animated by Maite Martínez and Xabier Unanua from Muxu Estudio. His lyrics denounce the hypocrisy on the part of the population on issues such as the bulls in San Fermines, public education, security forces, strikes…
The Navarrese trio will present the album live this Saturday together with those also from Pamplona Stone (who present “A world on fire”) at the Elizar Cultural Center in Lizoain (Navarra).
