Waldo Faldo’s punk uproar, tonight in Madrid

Waldo Faldo is a Synth-Punk band in Madrid that for now has published two EPS, ‘Playa Collega’ (2021) and ‘New human species’ (2033). Its sound is urgent, nervous and homemade and much more fun than it seems in a first impression that evokes Suicide. Actually, Waldo Faldo’s keyboard melodies refer to Devo’s work, Aviator Dro or the first The B-52’s. There are the infectious ‘year 2033’ and ‘Nutrition’ among their best letters.

The name of Waldo Sick, extracted from the famous character of ‘Things from home’, warns of humor present in his lyrics. “Everything is expired” is one of his catchy choruses, and even the despair of ‘Beijing’ sounds fun in his hands.

Carmelo Rodríguez Torres (Melo), Álvaro González Larrodé, Eduardo Arriero Hernández and Marco Fernández Rivas integrate this band from other previous ones such as Romanian camp and The Hollywood Sinners and who is recovering the most incendiary synthesizers of the Primigenian punk. ‘Useless functional’ is another of his successes.

Waldo skirt act tonight in the basement of Madrid and share a poster with two other bands, hurt and .moov, both closer to the shoegaze than a devote and dandruff attack. The concerts are framed within the programming scenarios Madrid of Vibra Mahou. Tickets are on sale at a price of 13 euros in advance and 16 euros at the box office. The shows begin at 20.00.
