Versailles becomes a new setting for Olivia Rodrigo

Olivia Rodrigo publishes “Drop Dead”, the single that will lead his next album. The preview of his third work has come to light accompanied by a video clip that has been recorded in the Versailles Palace in Paris under the direction of Petra Collins.

In his new song, Rodrigo constructs an intimate and self-referential story in which he addresses the obsession with a platonic love, which he observes from bed, also introducing astrological nods—Gemini versus Pisces—and explicit references to the classic “Just Like Heaven” by The Cure.

The visual imagery that accompanies the song reinforces that tone between the confessional and the pop, with Rodrigo moving through rooms inspired by Marie Antoinette, pink guitar in hand and matching headphones. Production is carried out by Dan Nigroa regular collaborator of the artist, while the composition has been signed with Amy Allen.

The American recently announced that “You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love”their new album, was about to see the light; remarking: “No matter how hard I try to write love songs, they always end up having hints of melancholy.” The announcement came shortly after Rodrigo completely emptied his Instagram profile and a billboard with the album’s title appeared on Melrose Avenue in Los Angeles.

The pop star in 2023 launched “Guts”an album that was promoted through a world tour, a deluxe edition, and a concert recording. For this occasion, Rodrigo will attend Night Live next May 2acting and announcing some scoop of the work that will see the light on June 12.
