Varry Brava goes partying like ‘Georgina with Cristiano’

Varry Brava have made another hymn to the night. This time, using one of the most famous couples in the world as a reference and entering for the first time into unknown musical territory: rumba. ‘Giorgina con Cristiano’ is the Song of the Day.

‘SHARIROP’ is the sixth album by the Alicante band and, in addition to the Italian love of ‘ROMAMOR’ or the summer euphoria of ‘The Last Festival’, the Varrys have also wanted to open new paths in their music. Without leaving aside its characteristic sound, of course, or a certain disco vibe.

From there comes ‘Georgina con Cristiano’, which Óscar, Aaron and Vicente themselves have described as “rumba”, “kinki” and “bolera” in an exclusive video for JENESAISPOP. Helped by the voice of María de Juan, Varry Brava takes us back to adolescence and those fearsome, but unrepeatable, “nighttime adventures.” “I keep dancing next to you and your boyfriend turns flamenco,” Óscar sings in the first verse, about a girl who is never left alone at the club.

In the words of the band, if you like Estopa and Gato Pérez, you will like ‘Georgina con Cristiano’. It won’t be the last time they play with these rhythms, since they have warned us that “more rumbas will come, for sure.” Aaron, on the other hand, couldn’t be clearer: “Rumba is the future.”

We also wanted to know what rumbas will be playing on the road while the group is on tour with ‘SHARIROP’. His favorites are ‘El gitano Antón’ by Peret and ‘Volare’ (or anyone, really) by the Gipsy Kings. Although there are those who prefer the “rumba” that cleans their house…

Varry Brava’s tour will begin on October 18 in Getxo, Bilbao and will end on February 1, 2025 in Madrid. Tickets are now available.
