Vangura is one of those Spanish underground groups associated with the Bedroom Pop label that, armed the same as synthesizers and keyboards than guitars, is being able to write absolutely adherent and lovely songs to which to return again and again. Some of those songs are contained in their second album of 2024 ‘Blood and salt’: others, in their 2021 debut, ‘move skin’. Although the most listened to today, ‘If you were rain’, dates from 2020 and is about to exceed the 4 million streamings brand in Spotify.
‘Nothing matters’ has been the last launch of Vangaura, the Madrid duo formed by Miguel Figueras and Ignacio Alarcón, an EP of six tracks that delves into its guitar facet, combining indie-pop influences, alternative rock and pop-pus, always with their kind style.
‘Your movie’ is one of its outstanding tracks, a production of pure indie-pop, vaguely inspired by the sound Two Door Cinema Club-especially its lively rhythmic base-but loaded with melancholy, in turn, in its melodic composition. Vangura produce ‘your movie’ accompanied by Ganges and Bearoid.
‘Your movie’, today’s song, poses a scenario of devotion to the loved person and even idealization. From there, perhaps, that the group use the film metaphor (“I want to stay in your movie”) to expose a love story that can be too good for it is true. At least, Miguel gives himself to a kind of symbiosis with that person and uses his relationship to enter a path of self -exploration, of personal discovery. ”I want to know, what I do not remember from me, I will do from you to understand, parts of me that I do not understand,” he sings.
