The Spanish singles chart is not soaked in Christmas carols as much as the Anglo-Saxon ones. To give a glaring example, ‘All I Want for Christmas Is You’ by Mariah Carey has never been number 1 in Spain. Here we continue listening these days to ‘Manos Rotas’ by Dellafuente and Morad and ‘Casanova’ by Soolking with Lola Indigo and RVFV as if there were no tomorrow.
Of course, in the week that includes the data from December 22 to 28, that is, Christmas Eve and Christmas, Mariah Carey’s song is the strongest rise even in our country and exceeds its maximum, which was a top 4. ‘All I Want for Christmas Is You’ is number 3 in Spain.
It is not the only Christmas carol in the official top 100. ‘Las Christmas’ by Wham! returns to the top 10 (it became number 9). ‘Feliz Navidad’ by Jose Feliciano rises to position 23, the triumphant in the United States ‘Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree’ by Brenda Lee rises to position 25. And a song by Michael Bublé, ‘It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas’ , reaches the top 27.
Along with ‘Jingle Bell Rock’ by Bobby Helms (top 30), ‘Snowman’ by Sia (top 42), ‘Santa Tell Me’ by Ariana Grande (top 44) and ‘Sleigh Ride’ by The Ronettes, among others, there are an entry that attracts attention at this point. This is ‘Blanca Navidad’ by La Oreja de Van Gogh, a song they recorded a couple of years ago as an exclusive for Amazon Music, but which has since gone viral on other platforms.
It is the only new addition to the top 100 this week in Spain with the permission of “Rosario” by Saiko (top 28) – one of the many songs from his EP on the list – and ‘Bellakeo’ by Peso Pluma and Anitta (top 88).
