Valeria Castro opens 2026 in Madrid presenting her great 2nd album

Despite her complicated year, Valeria Castro closes 2025 with good news: ‘What if we do it?’, her successful collaboration with Dani Fernández, is number 1 on Los 40 Principales. Furthermore, their second album ‘the body after all’ is clearly one of the best of the last 365 days. In the JENESAISPOP Yearbook it appears at the top, in position 24.

Castro will present ‘the body after all’ soon in an important concert that will take place on January 9 – in 10 days – at the Movistar Arena in Madrid. This date is part of the Inverfest cycle and we warn you that there are few tickets left.

If we counted only national albums, for JENESAISPOP ‘the body after all’ would be exactly the sixth best album of the year. A beautiful album that, reflecting on topics such as “toxic love, dependency and the rejection of our own body in the era of Instagram filters”, is also a work that reflects the current digital reality. It is no coincidence that ‘Solitude’ was the preview single and one of the most loved by the public.

Castro explained the concept of the album, highlighting its feminine perspective, crucial to understanding the work, in an interview with JENESAISPOP. “I am a woman, suddenly I have seen myself more publicly exposed, and that sharpens that feeling of other people’s gaze,” she said. «The bombardment of images, the algorithm and all these social networks lead you to compare yourself a lot and I have seen myself many times looking in the mirror for a self-love that I have not found. I speak from the feminine prism. There is a lot of struggle, I see it with my friends, my family: there is always some enmity with the physical body. Many times we try to cover it up so as not to take on that struggle that we bring, but suddenly you have to take photos, you have to put your image on a stage and you have not always been very kind to yourself.

Also speaking about the importance of loving yourself first, the audience has clearly connected with a proposal that is as timeless in its sound palette -incorporating influences from folk or ranchera- as it is contemporary in its themes. Not only the great chorus of ‘solitude’, but also compositions such as ‘it has to be easier’, ‘sentimentally’ or ‘it must be’, which features the collaboration of Sílvia Pérez Cruz, promise to stay with us for a long time. It will be the beautiful voice of Valeria Castro, with its feeling and power, that will never “let go.”
